No Denying It Now

The parish property was officially given to the authority of the Bishop of Colorado in 1929 by the Grace Church corporation.

If you go to the Grace/CANA website, it asks for donations to fund their legal quest to return parish buildings to their original purpose. It seems to me that original purpose of 630 N. Tejon was to be an Episcopal Church. I wonder what Don thinks its supposed to be.

Now the schismatics are saying the document is a forgery. Not that any bit of proof would satisfy them, of course, but has it been authenticated?

This documnet gives me hope that we will be back in our building soon. It is evidence of what we've known all along: that our forbears in this place of worship were Episcopalians. Imagine their surprise when the Episcopal flag came down and something unknown raised in its' place. Mmaybe one of those saints helped with the finding of this document.

Hi, this is a note from Frear Simons. I am a member of the Chapel of Our Saviour but a friend of Grace. I saw this document about 10 years ago when I was looking at historical documents from the Grace safe deposit box. There was really no reason for anyone to have forged such a document, and they were, as has been observed on other blogs, entirely customary. On the other hand, that doesn't mean that such a document does not evidence intent of the persons who executed it. I did not photocopy the document I saw, because I never supposed that there would be a serious movement to leave the Episcopal Church, but I was very anxious when I realized the diocese apparently had not been able to locate the duplicate original that it undoubtedly had at one time.

The schismatics have also said we are a small group that can't afford the mortgage and would turn Grace Church into a hotel or night club or some such foolishness. Of course they will call it a forgery. I don't know if it has been authenticated because I haven't seen the original and I am not an expert in old documents. I doubt if any of them are either. This is the only kind of argument they have and it was to be expected.
