Grace Episcopalians...YOU ROCK!

So the vote shows 342 people voting to join CANA...93% of those voting.

What this means is:

1. The boycott was an outstanding success.

2. The CANA population is finally defined to be as small as it is.

other notes:

Of 822 possible voters, only 370 turned out.

2500 people are nowhere to by found in this myth.

Thanks to your powerful and effective cooperation, the truth will be known.

Maybe now they have had the so-called vote, we can help them find a proper place to worship. In all seriousness, where would a gathering place for 340 be available downtown?

I've always thought 2500 was a bit much. Where did you get the 822 number?

My parents didn't vote at all, though they still attend Grace-CANA. I told them I couldn't go with them to church. I'm Episcopalian, not Nigerian Anglican. But I can't blame them for still going. I think they are just collateral damage in this whole saga.

So sad.

The 822 number comes from the list of authorized voters posted by the secessionist group used for the voting roster. Essentially, this appears to be a pre-split list of individuals and spousal pairs, but no children.

Further clarification:

This 822 person roster does not represent current attendees. It seems to represent those individuals the secessionist group wanted to include plus others they could not justify not including.

I have been following this with great interest from afar as I have two family members interred in the Columbarium at Grace. How can anyone read the presentment and not wonder as to Don Armstrong's guilt? I wonder if the 822 person roster is the number of parishioners that were left after "the pruning." I am stunned and sickened that "my" church has aligned itself with a homophobe.

Dear sbb- Shove Chapel, in all seriousness. Holds 500, administered by CC for the benefit of the entire community, and it would be my pleasure to show them where the folding chairs are. Parking is a bit of a problem, but we all know how the parking tickets are paid.........

Yes, Shove Chapel would be a good starting place for them -- except that Colorado College might be a bit too liberal a place for CANA members to feel comfortable.
