To vote May 20 or not...

The position of the Episcopal Church is that the parish vote, sponsored by the secessionist vestry, to join CANA is an illegal action and has no recognized validity. It is suggested that Episcopalians have no interest in this participation because the real estate issues will be handled in the courts, and we have a historical continuity as Grace Episcopal Church that has been established by the Bishop of the Colorado diocese and with the creation of a new vestry.

We have heard that ballots will be mailed to all members in good standing. What definition of good standing will be used?

Is there any value in voting to show how many people disagree with what the illegal vestry is doing and that you don't want to join CANA? Have you all tried to petition other members of Grace to vote against the secession? Even if it is an illegal vote, it's still going to be held up as a cover/excuse for what they are going to do. I pray there there are some people who are still going to Grace that don't understand or really care about what is happening and continue to go out of routine or some form misplace loyalty. If you could get them to vote no as well, that could only help.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Everyone who has been a member of Grace Church (on Tejon) in the past should vote at the May 20 meeting to show that we do not all agree with the positon of Rev. Armstrong and CANA. Otherwise, the vote that has already been decided will have no opposition.

Please attend Grace at First Christian Church on the day of the vote to show your support for our church.
There is no way to know what Don means by "member in good standing." He and Jon couldn't agree on that at the meeting on April 15th. If they mail ballots to us it couldn't hurt to mail them back but the decision is made and I doubt if an honest count will be made.

I think that Grace Episcopal members should gather respectfully outside our building on that day and protest. We need to have Episcopal flags and banners in our hands and claim this real estate as our own.

Sometimes Episcopalians can be TOO mannerly!

I agree with a gathering outside of the church on that day. The community needs to see who are the true and rightful members of the church.

Read the ballot for yourselves.
